Precision Executive Search, Inc, an executive search firm catering exclusively to the civil engineering profession, was founded in September of 2001 with the intention of delivering first class civil engineering professionals and executives to a wide array of consulting engineering firms across the country. Every year there seems to be a wide gap between the job openings that civil engineering firms have, and the quality talent necessary to fill those needs. It is the vision of Precision Executive Search to bridge that gap so that firms are able to thrive and expand, and so that the very best civil engineers can achieve enormous success in their careers when they may otherwise feel trapped in their current roles with nowhere to go but sideways.
Matt Barcus, President
Normally, people do not go to college with the intent to pursue a career in executive search, and Matt is no exception. After earning his degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from the University of Delaware Matt began his career in the hotel industry, but it was not his calling. In 1997 he stumbled into the recruiting industry and has not looked back since. Over the course of his career Matt has placed hundreds of civil engineering professionals across the country for consulting firms big and small. From Partners, Division Presidents, and Vice Presidents down through Project Engineers, Matt’s network reaches far and wide. The success over the year stems from his loyal client base and the level of excitement they bring from a growth perspective and with what they have to offer to their employees, and his consultative approach to the recruiting process. Many recruiters look at recruiting as a transactional process, where Matt prefers to dig in deep and really understand his clients and their cultures and philosophies, so that he can organize a more targeted approach to his recruiting efforts, which in turn leads to a higher success rate.
