27 Oct Some Words of Encouragement for my Fellow Recruiters & TA Professionals
💪🏻💪🏻 Some words of encouragement for all my recruiting & TA friends 💪🏻💪🏻
A few weeks ago I placed a civil engineer with a client in North Carolina. The placement was a pretty easy one once we got the ball rolling.
☎☎ A :30 minute phone interview
🙋🏻♂️ 🙋🏻♀️ A :60 minute face-to-face interview
🤝🏻🤝🏻 Offer extended and accepted
But it took a while to get my hook into the candidate:
1️⃣📞: Cold called candidate, left a message.
⏲⏲: 48 hours go by, crickets.
2️⃣📞: Called candidate again, left a message.
⏲⏲: 48 hours go by, crickets.
3️⃣📧: Sent candidate an email.
⏲⏲: 48 hours go by, crickets.
4️⃣📞: Called candidate again, blocked number this time, left a message
5️⃣📱: Sent candidate a text message.
🎉🎉: Candidate FINALLY responded.
Recruiting is a TOUGH job.
It’s a GRIND.
It’s hard to get ANYONE to respond.
It takes #GRIT. It takes #PERSISTENCE. It takes a THICK SKIN as we get rejected ALL. DAY. LONG.
And as you can see from my story above, no response is not a reason to give up…
…No response means they just have not yet said YES!
So to all my recruiting friends 👉 keep grinding, keep fighting, keep clawing. The fruits of your labor WILL pay off.
